Hilary Dixon
Hilary has many years experience of working as a trainer in the sexual health field, in particular working with education and health professionals on SRE for young people. She has brought her wealth of experience together in Sexual Health Skills: a Manual for Trainers on Sexual Health and Sex and Relationships Education.
Training in Personal, Social and Health Education
In the 1990s Hilary trained all the teachers who took part in the research-based SHARE programme (see What is SHARE) in Scotland, and has since trained both trainers and practitioners to deliver the modified SHARE programme which is now widely used across Scotland. She was also responsible from 2003 to 2005 for the training element of the Home Office Blueprint Drug Education Research Programme – training that has been evaluated very highly (see Blueprint Delivery Report).
Hilary no longer runs tailor-made training courses for organisations, but can give advice on who you might talk to. She has trained a team of people across the country who are able to take on training around sexuality, sexual health and relationships for people with learning disabilities.
